Final Binder |
12 Important Values Project Description
This project was about tapping into our creativity, learning about how we view ourselves, and always checking to see if there is any reasonable doubt. For this project, we read 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, and then we're tasked to design our Humanities binders with each tap representing different things, but all of them representing ourselves. We then had to present are finished binders to miss Carol in a five-minute appointment that we set up with her. For this project, we did not have any partners or assigned groups, but we did work with others when given critique or reading aloud in class. I feel like I worked well with everyone because I gave other people good critique on their binders, and I also helped with a lot of the reading in class. Overall, most of the collaboration was just giving each other kind specific and helpful feedback to help make everyone have a better final product. Some areas I could grow are stepping down because with 12 Angry Men there could only be about 12 people in the class reading, and I volunteer to read about every time. This meant some people did not have the opportunity to read either the juror that they wanted to, or read it all. Overall, without being in a specific group for this project we still collaborated a lot. In terms of our learning outcomes, I feel like I did well in all of the areas. With work ethic, I spent an unbelievable amount of time on my binder in hours outside of school so I could get it done on time, and make my crazy ideas come to life. With collaboration, I gave other people good critique on their binders and help read aloud in class. Plus, since I read aloud in class, that covered the oral communication part of our learning outcomes as well. With our written communication, I was able to answer all of the questions about the book when we had quizzes or we were working on our packet. With content, I was able to exceed all the expectations on the binder by putting my own twist on everything. For example, I used modge podge to apply all of my pictures to each tab of my binder, and applied my 12 important values to the cover of my binder in a creative fashion. In terms of our class values, I feel like I demonstrated them very well. For empathy, I needed to understand why some dead lines were changed last minute or why one of my ideas just would not work. For Grit, if something were to fall off of my binder or rip because we used paper, instead of just leaving it the way it was I made sure to redo it so when it was presented I didn't have to cover up for it. For responsibility, I made sure to never lose any part of my binder or the packet we had to keep throughout the entire reading of 12 angry men. For respect I made sure to use any tools I needed in a respectful manner, and respected other people's ideas that they wanted to do with their binder. For integrity, I made sure to show up when I told Miss Carol I would show up for my meeting, and always worked when no one was watching. I feel like I offered a strong reading voice to the group, and good critique to others. If I had to grade myself in terms of our learning outcomes in class values, I'll give myself an A+ because I made sure to be aware of all of them, especially my grit and work ethic. If I compromised any of them, my finished product and my understanding of our reading would have been a lot different. I was also very proud of my presentation to miss Carol of my binder because I got to show her the execution of my ideas , my common theme throughout my binder, and how I went above and beyond to make it something more special than it needed to be. |
