Act 1: Sexism
Stars Destroyed
Hollywood is now a place
that women are scared of,
because Mr. Weinstein
and our own president
think it is alright to use us, because
¨When you're a star, they let you do it.¨
-Our President
Can´t do It
A job with that much power,
just isn't for you.
People like you are going to make too many
¨rash decisions emotionally.¨
So, ¨I can't vote for the leader of the free world
to be a woman."
Act 2: Racism
Long Way
The color of my skin
shouldn’t define how you treat me,
or how big of a threat
that you feel I am.
Because trust me,
“We still have a long way to go.”
Move On
That doesn’t exist anymore.
We have improved so much.
So why are you still talking about it?
It’s a “dated concept” and it’s just “silly.”
Worry about something…. Bigger?
Act 3: Classism
Up There
Why am I in the “middle class”
and you are all the way up there
while the tax code has been
“unfairly” favoring the
“wealthiest americans”
even though they have more.
More than You
We worked hard for this
money,
this fame.
All of these fancy things we have
that may be a bit nicer than yours
or a bit newer than yours.
But were still the same, right?
Act 4: Depression
Wake Up
I don’t want to wake up
because the worst nightmares happen
when I’m awake.
They are ones I can’t escape.
Ones that makes me forget
“Which day or which city I was at.”
You’re Fine
You're alright,
it’s just how life works.
It will get better,
just get through it.
Can you...get through it?
Act 5: Anxiety
Look Around
I look around and see
the worst possible situation.
Heart beating, stress flowing.
I’m freaking, I can’t stop thinking,
my mind won't stop racing.
I would ask if you could tell me
“Exactly how the day was going to be,
then ask 30 seconds later.”
Calm Down
Stop freaking out.
It’s not even that big of a deal.
Who cares what happens.
You seem fine anyways.
